Introduction

This is an era of large and impersonal art. Installations have become a "retreat house" where one can examine the exterior of things rather than the interior of self.

My work focuses on the aspects of self and self with other that are often too painful or embarassing to acknowledge. Using abstraction, figurative abstraction and Journal, my work brings closer and into sharper focus those silent yet haunting spaces which can only be neglected but never really ignored, for avoidance often destroys what we so long to preserve.

In the past few years, I used a camera to take a closer look. The images were strange and provocative... the camera seemed to have a "third eye" that saw beyond what I could see with my two. But then, quite unexpectedly, my "interior camera" reset its focus and I have returned to working solitary and in pursuit of my own third eye.
